The SAT score is between 400 - 1600. SAT was redesigned in March 2016, and score now consists of the sum of 2 sections:

(1) Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Section - 800 Max.
(2) Math Section - 800 Max.
So, maximum SAT score you can get is 1600 points.
Note: The scores for the optional SAT Essay are reported separately and aren’t factored into any other scores.

SAT Superscore

Superscore is best of Evidence-Based Reading and Writing test score and best of Math test score—and then calculate a “super composite” or superscore based on these scores.

Many schools (and the common application) will ask you to list this score.
